Water Smarter, Water WiSA
Peak Environmental Monitoring can install and support the WISA, PC based
Irrigation monitoring and control systems.
Imagine an irrigation Management system that gives you more control,
increased flexibility and greater accuracy. A system that allows you to use
water more wisely. A system that demands far less of your time, but increases
your yields and the quality of your produce.
Already, many growers - including grape, citrus, olive, nut, fruit, field and
hydroponic vegetable producers - are experiencing end results that include
reduced water consumption in many cases, healthier plants producing
increased crops of higher quality, plus the added benefit of significant time
savings made while doing so.
A WiSA Irrigation Management System provides extensive and accurate
weather, soil and crop information utilising soil moisture monitoring, sensors
and weather data to enable precise control of water and nutrient applications.
The WiSA Crop Management System applications include:
Rural - Waste Water – Re forestation – EPA and Environmental – Mining –
Municipality – Suburbia – Hydroponics.
A WiSA System uses a dedicated PC as a central control system, provides
accurate data in real time which can be remotely "connected" to via the
telephone and/or internet connection. This ensures optimum data retrieval
and utilisation of the equipment. Accurate data is collected in real time - no
delays, no guesswork, no mistakes - so you can act on the information
received in the present moment.
Wisa Irrigation control - Fabian Gallo
1. Moisture control for crop quality.
The WiSA irrigation management system captures soil moisture monitoring,
sensors and weather data to enable precise control of water and nutrient applications.
All plants (particularly grapes and fruits) produce better quality fruit if water and nutrient availability is managed to
encourage root growth, or alternatively, vegetative and fruit growth.
As there are only a certain number of productive days from flowering to full ripe, a WiSA system means precious time is
not lost to water logging or unnecessary stress due to lack of water, thereby increasing the potential quality and
quantity of the crop.
2. Accurate data in real time
A WiSA System uses a dedicated PC as a central control system, which can be remotely "connected" to via the
telephone and/or internet connection. This ensures optimum data retrieval and utilisation of the equipment. Accurate
data is collected in real time - no delays, no guesswork, no mistakes - so you can act on the information received in the
present moment.
Perhaps soil moisture conditions indicate a change in irrigation flow is needed. Maybe weather sensors indicate frost
protection must be activated. Or perhaps you'd like to change your start and stop times to make the most of a particular
rain event. Managing all these scenarios and every variation in between is possible with a WiSA system. You can even
go away on holidays and manage your irrigation program from anywhere in the world.
3. Manage finite resources more effectively
The effective and responsible use of water is an issue for farmers, communities and governments right around the world,
especially in Australia where limited resources must be used as wisely as possible.
WiSA are committed to the sustainable future of irrigated farming and have developed technologies that support farmers
in their quest to efficiently and profitable use of their water resource.
A WiSA system provides extensive and accurate weather, soil and crop information so farmers can pinpoint exactly when
to water and how much, thereby eliminating the risk of over-watering. This approach can save significant amounts of
water and money.
WiSA supports world renown soil moisture sensors such as Sentek, Aquaflex as well as the Vaisala range of weather
transmitters in addition to monitoring irrigation control components such as valves, pumps, line pressures and irrigation
run times.
MAIT Industries provides innovative monitoring and irrigation-control solutions that
help growers, horticulturists, turf managers and other water users and providers to
improve their water-management practices.
The MAIT company and products are driven by agronomic and engineering
backgrounds.
MAIT have been developing and perfecting irrigation technologies for Australian
conditions since 1994.
Today, their products are used Australia wide, by large and small enterprises. The
scalability of the systems means a customer can begin with a basic system, then add
as their needs grow.
MAIT's flagship product is iNTELLiTROL. This integrated monitoring and irrigation-control
system readily interfaces to a wide range of sensor technologies. iNTELLiTROL’s genesis
was guided by what clients said what they wanted to know, and wanted to be able to
do, with irrigation.
iNTELLiTROL® Turf allows users to integrate soil moisture data with irrigation
automation based upon real time soil moisture conditions.
No need to replace your existing irrigation controllers. iNTELLiTROL® Turf connects
directly to your existing controllers, providing managers with accurate soil moisture
data which will automate irrigation programs based upon soil moisture levels.
Remote data collection is available, using GSM modems, to allow managers to view
current and historical soil moisture conditions and readjust moisture set points when
required, from the office.
Accurate soil moisture sensors and rain switches, connected to iNTELLiTROL® Turf
provide turf managers with a smart system at an affordable price. Other sensors
such as flow meters, rain gauges and air temperarure can be monitored and used
for control and alarming.
iNTELLiTROL turf can now automate irrigation on rain data, temperature and from
the EnviroPro probe.
Peak Environmental Monitoring can offer a number of solutions for intelligent irrigation control and monitoring. We work ,
and talk closely with design engineers who are specialist in their fields.
Depending on the type of system required, budgets and whether or not there is already existing irrigation control
infrastructure on site , we can offer alternative approaches to maximise the benefits to the end user.
MAIT industries have an ideal solution for controlling irrigation based on soil moisture which can be interfaced to existing
timer based irrigation control systems.
WISA systems generally deploy the concept of centralised PC to undertake irrigation management. Both systems can be
remotely monitored and accessed.
